Corpus Christi is a coastal city situated in the region of South Texas of the US state of Texas. It is also the county seat of the Nueces County. It extends into San Patricio, Aransas and Kelberg counties. According to the 2000 US census, the city has 277,454 inhabitants while in the year 2006, it has been recorded that there are 285,175 residents in the area which makes it the 8th largest city in the entire state of Texas.
